WelCome!
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
For nearly a decade, I was the primary caregiver for my mother as she lived with dementia. When that chapter ended, I found myself in a quiet, unfamiliar space—full of grief, full of possibility, and unsure where to begin.
The re:Membering Project was born from that silence. It became a way to gather the scattered pieces of myself and begin again—to honor what was lost, but also to rediscover what still lived within me.
Through reflection, ritual, and storytelling, I began to remember who I was becoming. That path eventually led me here—to Ravensong Creative.
Ravensong is the meeting place of all my creative work: a home for story, soul, and sacred strategy. It’s where I weave everything I love—myth, folklore, ancestral memory, and creative storytelling—into offerings that help others reconnect with what matters most.
I believe stories are more than words. They’re living things—rooted in memory, longing, and transformation. They can heal, haunt, and guide us home to ourselves. Whether through my podcasts, creative studio, or personal writing, my work is about remembering the threads that tie us to something timeless.
Today, my world is made of many intertwined paths:
The re:Membering Project — a creative sanctuary for healing through story.
Breath & Bone — a story shrine for the unseen and in-between.
Ravensong Storycrafting Studio — creative storytelling and design for mission-driven voices.
All of it lives under the wings of Ravensong Creative, guided by one belief:
✨ Story is how we remember who we are.
Ravensong Creative is the multidisciplinary studio of writer and storyteller Martina Rutledge — a living weave of storytelling, creative strategy, and ancestral imagination.
Through projects like The re:Membering Project, Breath & Bone, and the Ravensong Storycrafting Studio, I explore the art of remembering — crafting words that heal, connect, and illuminate the threads between past and possibility.
From podcasts to written works, courses, and collaborations, Ravensong Creative exists to honor story as sacred craft — a bridge between imagination and meaning.
✨Between breath and bone, the old stories rise.
I’m not here to fix or to teach—I’m here to listen, to share, and to walk beside anyone finding their way through the dark toward their own beginning again.
Welcome to the Crossroads.
May you find something here that lights a lantern on your path.
🌿 A Few Things About Me
I once co-hosted a paranormal podcast exploring the haunted histories of the Pacific Northwest — stories of old buildings, restless echoes, and the spaces in-between. Those years taught me that every ghost story is, at its heart, a story about love and memory.
My German Shepherd, Luna, and husky mix, Cyrus (short for Osiris), are my forest-wandering companions — equal parts wild, loyal, and wise. These days, our pack has grown to include their pups — Remy, Wolfgang (or Wolfy), and Lyra — each one a small, joyful echo of their parents’ untamed hearts.
I speak English, German, and French, can puzzle through a little Dutch, and am slowly learning Spanish. Language, to me, is another form of magic — a way of remembering the world in different voices.
I have a Master’s degree and am ABD (all but dissertation) on my Phd coursework in German literature and used to teach courses on fairy tales, goddess stories, and earth-based spirituality, and those threads still wind through everything I create. Myth and meaning are my native languages.
Women Who Run with the Wolves changed the way I see everything — it deepened my love for story, archetype, and the fierce feminine that lives in us all.
My hair has been nearly every color under the sun. Transformation, it seems, is in my bones…or at least my follicles.
I believe libraries are sacred, food is a love language, and that stories might just be the oldest kind of spellwork.
“Oh, how I love Around the World Around the Year with Martina. She is a master story weaver, bringing magic and myth together in practical ways that enrich lives.”- Keeli Smith
“The way you present the work, as stories, is such a comfortable way to confront the things that I think we all face within ourselves. We can slide into something familiar, and walk through that story with you as we deal with our issues and grow. It’s a really beautiful thing. And you are such a steady, insightful presence through it all.” - Candi Miles
“Fantastic experience! Working with you is like a breath of fresh air — inspiring, patient, and kind.” - BlondieWitch
